Handmade Christmas ornaments?
I need an idea for an easy Christmas ornament I can make with my child and her class. I need something simple that a seven year old can do with ease-something without a million little pieces to glue on. Anyone have any suggestions on a simple ornament to create that is age appropriate?
I used to do those all the time in my class, here’s 1 or 2 that I remember.
One of them is to find a coloring pattern for a wreath, make copies, glue it on green construction paper. Have the kids paint (or color if it’s easier) the wreath and when you cut out the middle put a picture of the child in there. You could do that for about any Christmas shape. Here’s a site with a lot of pattern http://www.first-school.ws/theme/cp_christmas/patterns.htm
Another one is to take a white or light blue pipe cleaner and cut it into 3 parts (you might need 2 pipe cleaners for it to be long enough). twist the pipe cleaners in the middle so you have 6 ends and spread them out. Have the kids put pony beads on the pipe cleaners and twist the very end of each pipe cleaner so the beads don’t fall off. Then you have a snowflake. (You can attach ribbon on the top of each one to hang it)
